Kenya Reiterates its Commitment to Strengthening Trade, Logistics and Maritime Partnerships

 
Kenya has reiterated its commitment to strengthening trade, logistics and maritime partnerships with Norway and the wider Nordic region to enhance East Africa’s connectivity to global markets.

‎Representing Cabinet Secretary for Mining, Blue Economy and Maritime Affairs Hon. Hassan Ali Joho at the Trade and Logistics in East Africa panel held at the Grand Hotel in Oslo, the Principal Secretary for Shipping and Maritime Affairs, Mr. Aden A. Millah, highlighted the strategic role of the Northern Corridor in connecting East Africa to international markets and creating new opportunities for trade and investment.

‎The engagement brought together the Principal Secretary, Kenya Maritime Authority Director General CPA Justus Omae Nyarandi, and Kenya’s Ambassador accredited to Norway, H.E. Angeline Kavindu Musili, MBS, among other stakeholders.
‎
‎The discussions focused on opportunities to deepen cooperation between Kenya, Norway and the wider Nordic region, particularly in efficient logistics, regional connectivity, skills development, technology transfer and investment.
‎
‎The Principal Secretary underscored the importance of translating international engagements into tangible outcomes for Kenya’s shipping and maritime sector, including enhanced efficiency, job creation, skills transfer and increased investment.
‎
‎He noted that Africa brings growing markets, skilled human capital and immense ambition to the global trading system, and called for mutually beneficial partnerships that recognise Africa’s strengths while promoting greater African participation in global trade.

‎The State Department remains committed to transforming dialogue and international partnerships into practical programmes and investments that deliver measurable benefits to Kenyan businesses, workers and communities.
