PS Aden Millah and State Department Officers During the Department's 2026 Budget Policy Statement (BPS) Presentation at the Parliamentary Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, Bunge Towers
The Principal Secretary, State Department for Shipping and Maritime Affairs, Aden Millah, today appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Transport and Infrastructure, chaired by Hon. George Kariuki Macharia, MP for Ndia Constituency, to deliberate on the State Department's 2026 Budget Policy Statement (BPS) for consideration.
During the session, the PS underscored the need for adequate support and funding to enable the Department to effectively deliver on its mandate and successfully implement its key projects.
The 2026 BPS was tabled in the National Assembly on 11th February, 2026, and subsequently committed to departmental committees for consideration in line with Section 25(2) of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, as read together with Standing Order 232(5).
The PS was accompanied by the Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) CPA Omae Nyarandi, the Bandari Maritime Academy (BMA) Chief Executive Officer (C.E.O) Dr. Eric Katana, the Kenya National Shipping Line Ltd Managing Director Abdallah Hatimy and directors drawn from the State Department as well as its SAGAs.
