PS Shipping and Maritime Affairs Holds Bilateral Consultation with Capt. Dalali, Director General of the National Agency of Maritime Affairs (ANAM) of the Union of the Comoros

The Principal Secretary, State Department for Shipping and Maritime Affairs, Mr. Aden A. Millah, hosted a bilateral consultation with Capt. Dalali, Director General of the National Agency of Maritime Affairs (ANAM) of the Union of the Comoros, aimed at strengthening maritime cooperation between the two countries.

‎The discussions focused on deepening collaboration in key areas, including maritime education, seafarer training and institutional capacity-building, with a shared objective of raising the standards of seamanship and strengthening the maritime workforce across the Western Indian Ocean region.
‎
‎As neighbouring coastal states, Kenya and Comoros continue to recognise the importance of working together to harness the potential of the Blue Economy, promote safer seas and strengthen maritime governance.
‎
‎The engagement also explored opportunities to create stronger training and employment pathways for young people, while enhancing institutional cooperation and knowledge-sharing within the maritime sector.

‎The Principal Secretary reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to advancing regional maritime cooperation and supporting initiatives that contribute to the sustainable development of Africa’s Blue Economy.

‎The State Department expressed appreciation to Capt. Dalali and the ANAM delegation for the spirit of partnership and noted that the discussions provide a foundation for translating bilateral cooperation into practical programmes that benefit seafarers, young people and the wider maritime industry.
