PS GEOFFREY KAITUKO MEETS WITH THE CEO OF KENYA SHIPYARDS LTD. MAJ GEN. PAUL OTIENO

Principal Secretary Geoffrey Kaituko met with the CEO of Kenya Shipyards Ltd, Maj. Gen. Paul Otieno, on a courtesy call to his office.

Since its establishment in 2020, the Kenya ShipYards Ltd has been instrumental in undertaking innovative programs and ambitious projects, which have catalyzed the shipbuilding industry.

The two agreed to work closely with all the other stakeholders within the shipping and maritime sector, in a bid to elevate it to the next level.

The state company whose vision is to be the leading catalyst in the development of the shipbuilding industry in Eastern Africa is mandated to lead and catalyze the introduction of the new shipbuilding industry in Eastern Africa with a focus on meeting the local demand from Kenya Navy, MDAs with maritime assets, and other public and private domestic and regional clients.

Its core functions include

• Design and construction of new ships and ship components.
• Ship repair and maintenance.
• Ship refit and conversion.
• Other maritime services.
